Bambatu grew up in the traditional “bush way” She spent some time in Balgo where she met and married Dinni Campbell. Dinni’s older brother Anatjari was a prominent artist in the establishment Papunya movement. It is these strong foundations of traditional design that have provided a source of tribal symbolism.
Painting
Following the death of her husband Bambatu continued to paint stories relating to her mother’s and father’s dreamings. She also produces designs that were passed on to her by her husband.
